Garding Against Cancer Garding Against Cancer is a fundraising initiative launched by Greg Gard and his wife, Michelle, to support cancer research and patient care in Wisconsin. The initiative has raised over $5 million since its inception in December 2016 and has organized numerous events to raise funds and awareness. The money raised goes to support researchers, patients, and their families, with a significant portion going to the Carbone Cancer Center at UW–Madison. The initiative also holds local fundraisers across the state, including a 5K run in the Wisconsin Dells and a business luncheon and family fun night at UW–Stout. The funds raised at these events stay in the communities they benefit, providing additional support for cancer research and patient care initiatives.
