About the Band

 MADISON COUNTY is a 7-piece Country show band, based out of Madison, WI, that has evolved its high-energy engaging show, over the years, to stay fresh and unique. They have been voted Local Group of the Year 9 years in a row at the Q106 MCMA (Madison Country Music Awards), Favorite Local Group at the 96.3 Star Country Awards, Country Artist of the Year at the MAMA Awards (Madison Area Music Association), People's Choice Award Winner for 6 years at the WAMI Awards (Wisconsin Area Music Industry), Isthmus Readers Favorite Local Country Band, and Madison Magazine's Madison BEST Local Band and Country Band, 6 years running.  MADISON COUNTY has also been acknowledged with a Meritorious Achievement Award at the MAMA Awards, for raising their incredible fan base to such astronomical numbers.

This group has earned the respect of some of the most talented musicians in the area, along with radio stations and fans alike. They have also shared the stage with many national acts through the years!

Mike Zibell, 4 year Q106 MCMA Male Vocalist of the Year and 96.3 Star Country Male Vocalist of the Year, along with his uncle Augie Zibell, also a winner of the Q106 MCMA Male Vocalist of the Year, give the band blood-rich harmonies.   With those harmonies, is a very talented and versatile group of instrumentalists, which includes,  Kevin Hendrickson on drums, Johnny Sparkle on bass, Dan Mahieu on keyboards, Angel Salinas on lead guitar, Mike Zibell on guitar & banjo, and Kayla Potter on fiddle & mandolin.

Over the years, MADISON COUNTY has released 3 full CDs ("Diamond In the Rough", "Make My Way Back Home" and "Enjoy the Ride"), as well as a 6-song EP with an Indie Label, out of Nashville, entitled "Perspective".  This self-titled single was voted "Best Country Song" at the MAMA Awards.  The group has sold well over 15,000 CDs and thousands of digital sales of their music, along with 6 local radio releases.

Since the Covid19 shutdown of businesses and gigs, Madison County has been working on new original music.  May 2021, they started to release an original Single-of-the-Month. May, "Roller Coaster Ride" - June, "Drinkin' Crowd" - July, "Set Me Free". Videos on www.madcounty.com/music .

MADISON COUNTY has been privileged to share the stage with many national artists over the years, including, but not limited to: Little Big Town, Sugarland, Montgomery-Gentry, Blake Shelton, Brantley Gilbert, Trace Adkins, Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Jake Owen, Thomas Rhett, Toby Keith, Travis Tritt, Gary Alan, Love and Theft, Neal McCoy, Rascal Flatts, Justin Moore, Chris Cagle, Phil Vassar, Bellamy Brothers, Joe Diffie, Dwight Yoakum, David Allan Coe, and Alan Jackson.
 

Mike Zibell

LEAD VOCALS, GUITAR, BANJO

  4 - time Q106 MCMA Male Vocalist of the Year, also voted Star Country 96.3's Male Vocalist of the Year, Mike brings to MADISON COUNTY, a very unique and dynamic vocal presence and writing style. Mike has written most of the songs that have been recorded by this group. He also brings front man experience to a group that thrives on its high-energy performance. His determination and drive shows on stage.
  Mike's passion, ever since the first days of developing the true showband idea of MADISON COUNTY, has been to bring something incredibly unique and entertaining to the fans.
  Born in El Paso, TX, Mike now resides in Waunakee, WI.

Kevin Hendrickson

DRUMS


 It all started with pots, pans, buckets and a sandbox. Kevin emulating his dad's award-winning country band, eventually becoming their drummer at a young age. In 2000 he began a 13 year run as the drummer of Madison County.  After a hiatus, he is excited to be back rocking the drum seat once again for Madison County. He currently resides in New Glarus, Wisconsin
