About the Band
This group has earned the respect of some of the most talented musicians in the area, along with radio stations and fans alike. They have also shared the stage with many national acts through the years!
Mike Zibell, 4 year Q106 MCMA Male Vocalist of the Year and 96.3 Star Country Male Vocalist of the Year, along with his uncle Augie Zibell, also a winner of the Q106 MCMA Male Vocalist of the Year, give the band blood-rich harmonies. With those harmonies, is a very talented and versatile group of instrumentalists, which includes, Kevin Hendrickson on drums, Scott Mitchell on bass, Dan Mahieu on keyboards, Angel Salinas on lead guitar, Mike Zibell on guitar & banjo, and Jess Lex on fiddle & mandolin.
Over the years, MADISON COUNTY has released 3 full CDs ("Diamond In the Rough", "Make My Way Back Home" and "Enjoy the Ride"), as well as a 6-song EP with an Indie Label, out of Nashville, entitled "Perspective". This self-titled single was voted "Best Country Song" at the MAMA Awards. The group has sold well over 15,000 CDs and thousands of digital sales of their music, along with 6 local radio releases.
MADISON COUNTY has been privileged to share the stage with many national artists over the years, including, but not limited to: Little Big Town, Sugarland, Montgomery-Gentry, Bake Shelton, Brantley Gilbert, Trace Adkins, Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Jake Owen, Thomas Rhett, Toby Keith, Travis Tritt, Gary Alan, Love and Theft, Neal McCoy, Rascal Flatts, Justin Moore, Chris Cagle, Phil Vassar, Bellamy Brothers, Joe Diffie, Dwight Yoakum, David Allan Coe, and Alan Jackson.

Mike has written most of the songs that have been recorded by this group. He also brings front man experience to a group that thrives on its high-energy performance. His determination and drive shows on stage.
Mike's passion, ever since the first days of developing the true showband idea of MADISON COUNTY, has been to bring something incredibly unique and entertaining to the fans.
Born in El Paso, TX, Mike now resides in Waunakee, WI.
It all started with pots, pans, buckets and a sandbox. Kevin emulating his dad's award-winning country band, eventually becoming their drummer at a young age. In 2000 he began a 13 year run as the drummer of Madison County. After a hiatus, he is excited to be back rocking the drum seat once again for Madison County. He currently resides in New Glarus, Wisconsin
Augie, Mike's uncle, has won Male Vocalist of the Year at the Q106 MCMA awards. His lead vocals and full range harmonies give MADISON COUNTY its rich kin-vocal presence, and his high energy performance gives the group one of the most action-packed shows in the Midwest.
Augie is co-writer on MADISON COUNTY's single "Make My Way Back Home". His unique ability to engage the crowd at every show is a key asset in bringing the fans out time and time again. The showman of the group hails from Madison, WI.
Writing songs without music was getting difficult, so at the age of 16, Dan began teaching himself the piano. 5 years later he was playing professionally. with a goal of "making it" in writing and playing. Dan moved to Muscle Shoals, Alabama and then eventually to Nashville, Tennessee, where he played with various artists on the road, for record label showcases, in recording studios and clubs. Moving to Wisconsin in 1996, Dan played with Under the Gun and Big Brother Billy before finding a home with the perfect fit, MADISON COUNTY.
Since 2002 he has enjoyed playing with and watching the band evolve into its current form.
Dan now resides in Stoughton, WI.
Born in Monterrey, Mexico, Angel started singing at age 5 and playing guitar at age 11 when he learned basic chords from his dad, also a musician. Before joining MADISON COUNTY, Angel played with the band Wild West.
His favorite country singer is "King" George.
Angel resides in Sun Prairie, WI.
A Minnesota native, Jess is classically trained but has been fiddling since the age of 7. During her teen years, she could be seen on stages throughout the Twin Cities accompanying Irish dancers and playing music with local artists. Multi-talented, she won 1st place in the Minnesota State Fair Fiddle Competition, trick fiddling category, when she combined her Irish dance and fiddle skills. Jess took a break from the public eye for a few years while earning a degree in violin performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Landing in Madison for an IT job after college, Jess pursued her passion - fiddling.
Thanks to MADISON COUNTY, she is doing what she has always loved.
Jess now resides in Madison, WI.
Scotty, also known as "Mustang", has been playing professionally for many years. His zany personality and stage presence, along with his vocals and good looks, make him a perfect fit for MADISON COUNTY.
Scott resides in Stoughton, WI.
